2007 French open championships Justin henin, the three time champion destroys the young serbian Ana ivanovic 6-1 6-2. The young serbian seems to no match for the world no.1. Will this serbian hold good in the upcoming tournaments?

Ana Ivanovic faces the powerful russian Maria sharapovain the 2008 Australian open finals. Maria has had a couple of powerful weeks she has defeated the world no.1 in the quarter finals. The Serbian was defeated by Sharapova in 7-5 6-3 manner. but Ana seemed to be more good than the last finals.

but this time the things were different

Ana Ivanovic overpowered herself to her first grand slam crown. The soon to be world no.1 defeated the giant killer Dinara safina in the finals with ease in a 6-4 6-3 manner.

By reaching the final, Ivanovic had already assured herself of being ranked No. 1 for the first time next week. And the Serb’s performance was No. 1-caliber against Safina.



The 20 year old made safina go all around the park and won many winners with her very own "yeah!"

Ivanovic won the match with a well timed backhand and covered her face then she rushed towards her family.

“I tried to call them to help me to come up, but they were hugging each other,” Ivanovic said with a laugh. “I was like, ‘Hey, what about me?’ …

“I feel so happy. I have no words to describe that. Winning a Grand Slam is something I dreamed since I was a little kid, so achieving that goal is very thrilling.”

4 time champion Justin henin who retired a few weeks back was present at the front row to watch the match and she presented Ana the trophy. Ivanovic said "I watched her before the match and i thought that i could be like her too"

Safina the sister of two time Grand slam champ Marat safin played her first finals. Safin was not here as he was preparing for the Wimbledon championships



safina said "I thought he will come" with a smile

so is the beginning of many titles in Ana's cabinet? Only time will answer this
