The 20 year old made safina go all around the park and won many winners with her very own "yeah!"

Truly The King of Clay ! |Nadal wins french open for the 4th time
Nadal Defeats Federer for the third consecutive time in the finals of the French open.
Case 1 (Record 1):
John McEnroe said "If Federer wins this time he'll be the greatest Ever". Yes, Federer was looking to complete a career slam by winning this year's Roland garros which he failed in the past two finals in the past two years.Case 2 (Record 2):
Rafael Nadal- the king of clay, The three time defending Champion, never lost a match in the capital of France. If he wins today he will become the only player in the open era to lift the french cup 4 times only after the legendary Bjorn borgWhat will happen?
This question was in the millions of tennis fans all around the world and the answer is "Rafael Nadal The King of clay destroyed The world no.1 Roger Federer 6-1 6-3 6-0 in a match which reflected Federer as a no.100 seed"
Roger Federer the world most greatest tennis player played with less than 10% of his potential as he won only 4 games in a major finals. This was Federers worst performance in a Grand slam finals and the most shortest final in minutes from 1977. that stat must tell you how bad Federer played.
Nadal said in the presentation ceremony "Roger, I'm sorry for the finals"
Federer in reply said "I hoped that i would have done much better than 4 games" "Rafa was very trong this year" he added.
"He dominated the whole game" "Just like bjorn" added Federer.
Nadal now moves to a 28-0 in the clay court major and has won 83 of his 90 sets. Only bjorn borj has better records than him.
Click here to view the finals gallery
The crowds were behind Roger and they chanted Ro-ger Ro-ger all throught the match but it was Nadal who won the match. "Losing in the final is never fun" said Federer.
Borg watched the final from the front row. Much of the crowd rooted for Federer, who arrived in Paris for the fourth consecutive year seeking to become the sixth man to win all four major titles. Each time he has lost to Nadal—in the semifinals in 2005, and in the final each of the past three years.
For Federer, the worst came at the end—a 6-0 set loss. On match point, Federer sailed a forehand long, and Nadal raised his arms in triumph.
And Federer is not alone in his French open Frustration he is joined by the likes of Pete Sampras, John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Boris Becker and Stefan Edberg who also never won a French open title.
So The past two years Federer and Nadal met in the French and Wimbledon finals and Ndal won both times in the clay and Federer better him twice in the Grass so this year Nadal won the clay will Federer capture the grass or will it be Nadal who will change the two year history?
Once again time only will answer this Read more!

Rafa vs Fedex once again | The top seeds face for the third time in a row in the clay major
again, by the end of the day, Roland Garros once more produced the likeliest of all championship matches: No. 1 Federer vs. No. 2 Nadal.
“Rafa again, across the net—it’s the ultimate test on clay. It would be so much better to win the French Open by beating him,” Federer said. “It should be entertaining to watch.”
The showdown Sunday is their third consecutive French Open final, their fifth Grand Slam final overall, and plenty is on the line.
Nadal can become the first man since Bjorn Borg in 1978-81 to win the tournament four years in a row. Federer can add the lone major trophy missing from his collection, thereby making him the sixth man to complete a career Grand Slam and increasing his total haul to 13 majors, one shy of Pete Sampras’ record.
“What’s special is winning the tournament, not beating Federer,” said Nadal’s uncle and coach, Toni. “But if Rafael beats Federer, it means more.”
Federer is 6-10 overall against Nadal, including 1-8 on clay and 0-3 at the French Open, where they also met in the 2005 semifinals.
“I will try everything,” Federer said. “I hope I will finally win here.”
Nadal hasn’t lost at Roland Garros. Ever. He improved to 27-0 by beating Djokovic, who won the Australian Open in January and would have overtaken Nadal in the rankings by beating him.
But by the sixth game, Djokovic’s cheeks were flush from exertion and he was gasping for air. Nadal make him look like a first-round opponent who had come through qualifying.
“Almost perfect,” was the way Nadal described his performance. “Best match at Roland Garros so far, no?”
Federer’s semifinal was second, so he took advantage of the opportunity to watch his nemesis.
“Rafa played fantastic for basically the entire time,” said Federer, who helped his own cause by winning the point on 49 of 64 trips to the net against Monfils.
Nadal does his finest work along the baseline, and the longer the point, the better, as far as he’s concerned. Against Djokovic, he won 32 of the 48 points that lasted at least 10 strokes, according to a tally compiled by The Associated Press.
In addition to showing up on the scoreboard, each of those extended rallies — often prolonged by Nadal’s tremendous defense—can take a toll on an opponent’s body and morale.
“Sometimes,” Djokovic acknowledged, “it’s really frustrating when you can’t make a winner.”
He didn’t register his second forehand winner until the second set, which says far less about Djokovic’s ability than Nadal’s knack for getting to the ball. Read more!

Ivanovic, though, won 16 of 18 points to end the first set, part of a six-game spurt. Then Jankovic used a seven-game run to claim the second set and a 2-0 lead in the third. And, rising to the occasion, Ivanovic took the final three games.
"I really let in slip away" said the 3rd seeded serbian who now has 0-4 semifinal record in the grandslams.
“She loves to defend and to run, so you just have to take these kind of risks—and believe,” Ivanovic said. “Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t.”
In the other semifinals the giant killer, The younger sister of two-time major champion Marat Safin followed up her twin escape-from-match-point-down, three-set upsets of Sharapova and No. 7 Elena Dementieva with a straightforward 6-3, 6-2 victory over No. 4 Svetlana Kuznetsova to reach her first Grand Slam final.

Knocked out -Top seed Maria sharapova gets a shock | Federer sails| Bryans out
Sharapova was just one point away from reaching the quarter-finals and a step closer to win the french open the only grand slam which she has never won but she had to go by some terrific display by MArat safin's sister.
Safina now faces No. 7 Elena Dementieva, the 2004 French Open finalist who beat No. 11 Vera Zvonareva 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 in another all-Russian match Monday.
Sharapova who became the top seed after the retirement of Justin henin can easily loss the spot. She now has has 4116.00 points but Ana ivanovic who is the 2 seed and still present in the tournament could race sharapova easily as Ana has 3922.00 points now itself.
Federer sails through
Roger federer is continewing his good form in the rolland garros but he did have some troubles in his fourth round tie against Julien Benneteau to go through to the quarter-finals of the French Open with a 6-4 7-5 7-5 win.
The Frenchman put some tough fight against the swiss world number 1, Federer was completely out of his potential he missed some easy balls, never ran against some balls, his serve was also not upto the mark but yet Federer cruised to the next round
Federer can be happy as he will have very little trouble until the finals as he is placed in the top half seperated from Nadal and Djokovic. So an intresting semifinal waits us in the botton half as Rafael nadal will face Novak djokovic (if they win their respective quarter finals)
In another classic fourth round of the day 5th seed David Ferrer defeated 21st seed Radeak Stepanik in a 4-6 6-2 1-6 6-3 6-3 marathon match. Ferrer will now meet Gael monfils in the quarter finals who defeated Ivan Ljubicic 7-6 4-6 6-3 6-2.

Ivanovic -The Queen | 25-0 for Nadal
25-0 for Nadal | Djokovic one step closer to meet Nadal
The King of clay moved one step closer to his 4th Rolland garros title as he demolished over No. 22 Fernando Verdasco by a over whelming 6-1 6-0 6-2 victory.
Nadal is rather familiar with his next opponent, No. 19 Nicolas Almagro, and had nothing but nice things to say about him.
On the other hand Serbia's No.3 Novak Djokovic had a easy match against 18th seeded Paul-Henry mathiew which the serb won by a convincing 6-4 6-3 6-4 margin.
Novak Djokovic will leave the looking ahead to others. If he’s to be believed, the No. 3-ranked Djokovic has more immediate concerns than a possible French Open semifinal against No. 2 Rafael Nadal or final against No. 1 Roger Federer.
First things first at Roland Garros for Djokovic: a quarterfinal against Ernests Gulbis, set up by three-set victories for both men Sunday. Never heard of Gulbis? Djokovic has. Knows the 19-year-old kid from Latvia quite well, in fact.
“He was destroying me in practices. I couldn’t win a match. Practice? No chance,” Djokovic said, then added with a wink and a smile: “So all the pressure’s on him, OK? He’s the favorite.” Read more!

Davydenko,Hewitt loose|Top Seeds sails through
“This feels like my biggest victory ever, beating Nikolay in five sets on clay after being two sets to love down,” Ljubicic said. “That’s definitely not easy. He was playing unbelievable in the first two sets but he slowed down in the third. I smelled blood and said to myself, ‘Let’s try to hang in here.’ From then on, I played very, very well.”
Davydenko admitted he lost her nerve.
“The first two sets he didn’t play, but then he started to fight a little bit,” the Russian said. “I started to become nervous and make so many mistakes. He saw I was losing ground fast.”
In Another nail=biting five setter Fifth-seeded David Ferrer advanced to the fourth round with a marathon 6-2, 3-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Lleyton Hewitt.“Hopefully it will help me going into Wimbledon,” Hewitt said. “That’s the biggest positive I will take out of it. If a couple of points had have gone my way, I could easily be through.”
Federer gaining momentum
The top-ranked Swiss beat Mario Ancic 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 Saturday to reach the fourth round at Roland Garros for the sixth time. It’s the only Grand Slam tournament he has yet to win.
Sharapova wins again
But Sharapova’s serve and other strokes grew sturdier. She hit a high-kicking service winner to get to set point in the tiebreaker, then smacked a cross-court backhand to end it, punctuating the winner with a shriek of “Yeah!” That presaged a strong finish. Read more!

Williams sisters sent home packing | Rest survives
French open 2008
The American dominance almost ended in the years French open as the Williams sisters suffered defeats in their respective third round tie ups.
Oracene Price, mother and coach to Venus and Serena Williams, stood near the steps to the locker room at the end of a long, rough day at the French Open.
First she watched eight-time major champion Serena lose a match that began a little after 11 a.m. Then she watched six-time major champion Venus lose a match that ended in near-darkness, shortly before 10 p.m. Both sisters were stunned in the third round Friday by journeywomen who never have been quarterfinalists, much less champions, at any Grand Slam tournament.
It was Flavia Pennetta, the Italian seeded 26th who beat Venus 7-5, 6-3, and was headed toward her parents for hugs and kisses and a congratulatory call from Grandma.“They just have to learn how to do the rope-a-dope as they get older,” Price said after Serena’s 6-4, 6-4 loss to No. 27 Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia.
Not only was there nary a Williams left in the French Open, there were no U.S. women left at all, because Bethanie Mattek was beaten 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 by No. 1 Maria Sharapova, whose 10 double-faults raised her total to 27 through two matches. It’s the first time in at least 40 years the United States didn’t put at least one woman into the fourth round at Roland Garros.
Now, Srebotnik will play No. 10 Patty Schnyder of Switzerland, and Pennetta will face qualifier Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain.
“I don’t want to be satisfied,” Pennetta said. “It’s Roland Garros. To even think about reaching the quarterfinals or semifinals at a tournament like this is what anyone who plays tennis dreams about.”
Is there any one to stop this spaniyard?
Spain's Three time defending Champion continewed his dominance in the clay as he over powered himself into the foruth round of the french open with a 6-1 6-3 6-1 demolition of Finn Jarkko Nieminen on Friday
The Spaniard, bidding to emulate Bjorn Borg by winning a fourth consecutive title at Roland Garros, will face either Russian 15th seed Mikhail Youzhny or Spaniard Fernando Verdasco, seeded 22nd, for a place in the quarter-finals.
Sharapova, Ivanovic, Djokovic taste victories
Novak Djokovic survived a tumble in the first set before coasting into the fourth round of the French Open with a 7-5 6-4 6-2 win over American Wayne Odesnik on Friday.
After taking time to get back on his feet, he gave himself a dusting down and then quickly returned to the task at hand by ambushing Odesnik.
Top seed Maria Sharapova was determined to keep playing her own style despite being pushed to a third set for a second straight match in a 6-2 3-6 6-2 win over Bethanie Mattek on Friday.
Sharapova displayed much of the poor timing and inconsistent shot execution that marred his first-round struggle against Evgeniya Rodina before finally prevailing over the American after three scrappy sets on Court Philippe Chatrier.
But despite another below-par display, the Russian said she would be sticking to her winning formula.
“I’m not a clay court specialist that’s going to stand 10 feet behind the baseline and retrieve balls back,” said Sharapova, who needs a win here to complete a career grand slam.
“I’m going to stick to my guns and do what I do best. I’m also going to play patiently if I want to win matches, especially against physically challenging players that hit 10 balls back.
“If I feel tired then they’re feeling 20 times more tired, because they’re the one doing all the running.”
Ana Ivanovic who never had any trouble what so ever in the french open 2008 had a yet another easy match where she completely demolished Caroline Wozniacki 6-4 6-1

Womens had a mixed day
French open 2008
The womens had a mixed second and third round in rolland garros. Sharapova who hada windy first round was steady in the second round
Maria Sharapova still has some kinks to work out with her serve, because she served another four double-faults and was broken three times—and her match didn’t even finish. She was leading Bethanie Mattek of the U.S. 6-2, 2-3 when play was suspended because of darkness.
Venus Williams and Jelena Jankovic played in the morning and won in straight sets.Williams used a six-game streak to take control and beat 241st-ranked qualifier Selima Sfar of Tunisia 6-2, 6-4. Jankovic was troubled by a painful right forearm but defeated Marina Erakovic of New Zealand 6-2, 7-6 (5).
Mauresmo over whelmed
The French women ranked 22 in the world lost shamefully. Mauresmo, who was seeded 22nd but never has enjoyed much success at her home country’s major championship, barely put up a fight in a 6-3, 6-4 loss to Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain.
“All I can say,” the Frenchwoman sighed, “is that I feel sorry about the way I played.” Read more!

Federer, Nadal staying steady
French open 2008
Top seeds Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal surprassed their respective second round matches in a clean fashion.
Federer’s opponent, 60th-ranked Albert Montanes of Spain, staked himself to a one-set lead—and then was overwhelmed the rest of the way in a 6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-0, 6-4 victory for the owner of 12 Grand Slam titles.
Nadal’s opponent, 148th-ranked Nicolas Devilder of France, was one point from serving for the first set, holding a break point at 4-all—and then was completely overwhelmed the rest of the way in a 6-4, 6-0, 6-1 victory for the owner of the past three French Open titles.
“His forehand was not a big problem for me to start with. And I thought, ‘Why not? Why not?”’ Devilder said.
And then?
“The games go by so quickly,” he said. “They go by so quickly, and you think: ‘When is it going to end?”’
Nadal improved to 23-0 at Roland Garros and said he’s “improving with each match.”
Nalbandian losses
Unlike Blake, Nalbandian has had success at the French Open, twice reaching the semifinals, but the Argentine wasted a two-set lead—and four break points in the opening game of the third set—and was eliminated 3-6, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, 6-2 by Jeremy Chardy of France.
“The best match I’ve ever played,” said Chardy, a wild-card entry who had won only two tour-level matches in his career before this tournament—and now has doubled that total. Read more!

French open 2008
American Top seed James Blake was out setted by Lativian Ernests Gulbis 7-6 (2), 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 in the second round of the roland garros.
The top U.S. man in the French Open was talking to himself, and the words were growing louder. He was bothered by the clay underfoot. By the chair umpire. By his own play. And, most of all, by the drop shots and assorted other winners his up-and-coming foe produced.
Black unhappy
After the match blake said “Americans a lot of times don’t have the highest expectations on clay,” the No. 7-seeded Blake said. “But I really felt like this match today was a match I could have won.” Read more!

Williams, Ivanovic sails through
With the light fading on center court and Serena Williams facing the possibility of heading into a third set at the French Open, the eight-time Grand Slam champion started to get a little peeved.
She quickly took care of that problem.
“I didn’t want to go three sets today,” said Williams, who won the last four games to beat Mathilde Johansson of France 6-2, 7-5 Wednesday in the second round at Roland Garros.
“I’m tired of playing so late and in the dark, and I was like, ‘OK, I’m going to close it out before then,”’ she added.
Joining Williams in the third round on Day 4 of the French Open was second-seeded Ana Ivanovic, who beat Lucie Safarova 6-1, 6-2. Read more!

Trouble For the Womens world No.1 in the First round.
The Womens World numer 1 Maria Sharapova had a windy start to her campaign at The rolland garros 2008 where she merely escaped a shameful first round defeate at the hands of the 103rd ranked Evginiya Rodina
Sharapova struggled with her serve in the wind in her first-round match on center court, hitting 17 double-faults and barely managing to defeat 103rd-ranked Evgeniya Rodina 6-1, 3-6, 8-6.
The top-ranked Russian, trying to complete a career Grand Slam at the clay-court major, landed only 64 percent of her first serves in the match.
“I was very close to losing this match,” Sharapova said. “Not many things were working for me today after the first set.”
The 19-year-old Rodina came within two points of winning at 5-4 in the third set, but Sharapova won the next two with strong serves to hold. At 6-6, Sharapova regained control by breaking serve for the first time in the final set, returning a second serve with a big forehand that caught Rodina flat-footed.
Then, serving for the match, Sharapova double-faulted one final time, but took the next three points to end it.
“I had problems in every department of my game today, so I’ll have to improve on every aspect of those things,” Sharapova said.
